Dr Hong Hou

Dr. Hou has served as president and chief executive officer of the Company since June 2024 and as a member of the Semtech board of directors since July 2023. Dr. Hou is an accomplished multinational technology executive, recognized as a global enterprise leader with a strong record of technical innovation and business transformation in ultra-competitive markets.

Dr. Hou also serves on the board of directors of Wolfspeed, Inc. (NYSE: WOLF) since September 2025. Dr. Hou previously served as president of the Semiconductor Group at Brooks Automation, a leading provider of automated wafer-handling and contamination-control solutions for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. In this position, he drove improvements in customer satisfaction, accelerated growth through early design wins and disciplined innovation, and advanced global operational excellence while operating in a leveraged buyout environment.

Before Brooks Automation, Dr. Hou was corporate vice president and general manager of the Cloud and Edge Networking Group at Intel Corporation (Nasdaq: INTC), with full P&L responsibility for a portfolio spanning Ethernet NICs and controllers, infrastructure processing units, Ethernet switches, and high-performance fabrics. Under his leadership, the group also emerged as a leading silicon-photonics provider for hyperscale data centers.

Before Intel, Dr. Hou served as executive vice president and chief technology officer of Fabrinet (NYSE: FN) and general manager of Fabrinet West. Fabrinet specializes in precision optical, electro-optical, PCBA, and electromechanical manufacturing in a high-mix, any-volume environment. As CTO and GM of Fabrinet West, he established advanced optical-packaging capabilities serving markets such as LiDAR, 3D sensing, VR/AR, and medical devices.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Hou held executive leadership roles at AXT, Inc. (Nasdaq: AXTI) as chief operating officer and at EMCORE Corporation (Nasdaq: EMKR) as president and chief executive officer, where he also served on the board of directors.

Dr. Hou holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and has completed executive-management coursework at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
