About CASA of Ventura County

CASA of Ventura County is a unique non-profit organization that recruits, screens and trains community volunteers to become the court appointed special advocates for children who find themselves in the juvenile dependency system through no fault of their own. CASA of Ventura County has existed since 1985 when a group of concerned judges, attorneys and community members felt that objective, caring support for these children was needed while they were under the jurisdiction of the court and out of home placement. The CASA advocate, as an officer of the court, is the eyes and ears of the court, reporting to the judge and attorneys about the child's progress and needs.
