28nm PHY IP Platforms

Designed to rigorous quality standards the 28nm PHY IP Platforms from Semtech Snowbush IP offer customers a flexible solution for the standards-based high speed IO requirements on their SOC/ASIC chips. Constructed to run on HP or HPM process variations the 28nm PHY IP Platforms support multiple standards, like PCI-Express, SATA, SAS, Gigabit Ethernet, OIF-CEI, and others.

Platforms

  • SBMULTR1T28HP(M)8G is an optimized multi-standard PHY targeted for PCI-Express 3.0. It supports 1.0 and 2.0 speeds as well. In addition, the IP handles both the Storage and Ethernet standards operating below 8G. These include SATA 6G, XAUI (10GBase-KX4), and 1GbE (1000Base-KX). The PHY platform delivers additional margin pushing performance to handle non-compliant PCIe channels but in an optimized power architecture.

  • SBMULTR2T28HPM12G is balanced power and performance multi-standard PHY targeted for standards up to 12.5G. These include the Ethernet and Networking/Backplane standards like 10GBase-KR, XFI(with some restrictions) and CEI-11G. The PHY platform supports all the electrical standards in Storage, Compute, and Networking from 1G to 12G.

  • SBMULTR3T28HPM12G - SAS is a performance-based multi-standard PHY. Its advanced architecture allows it to hit SAS 12G. It supports other compute and networking standards, like PCIe and Ethernet as well. The architecture of this platform is built for uncompromising performance, to support standards like XFI, SPI, and OC 192.
  • SBMULTC2T28HPM28G is the highest performing multi-standard PHY in the IP product portfolio, supporting high-speed standards between 10Gbps and 28Gbps. This PHY platform features aggressive low power design which delivers power saving at high speeds. The PHY is optimized for long reach applications supporting standards like CEI-25G-LR and CEI-28G-SR. The PHY is based on silicon proven design blocks used at 40nm and 28nm. The PHY features many programmable options.
